November 16 – December 13, 2013
Alan Ross is a renowned photographer who worked side-by-side with Ansel Adams as his photographic assistant for nearly six years. He was personally selected by Adams to be the exclusive printer of the Yosemite Special Edition negatives in 1975, a job he continues to this day, making each image by hand using traditional darkroom methods.
In his latest exhibition, Ross showcases images that were made during his tenure with Adams, including his first “Mona Lisa” as described by Adams, and images that reflect the influence of the iconic photographer Ross is proud to have called mentor and friend. Also included in the show will be snapshots,
notes and letters from Ross’ personal collection of Adams memorabilia that offer a rare “behind the lens” look at Adams.
A selection of Alan Ross images, specially curated for this show, will be available for purchase.
